Eastern Skies

from State of Mind by Elephantis

/

about

This is a call for social change. Growing up we see our friends separate and become walled off because of our need to put everyone into a category. What music you listen to, what clothes you wear, and you just end up alone, you end up alienated from everyone who cared about you. We need friends to make this life of some worth, and Eastern Skies is about tearing down these walls that we divide ourselves with.
-Connor

lyrics

Looking back at what once was
Homes and hardships was the good life

We were all as one, held together by trust
Only to be broken apart
Stripped from our armour, no hope now
Brace for the cold

Our time is now and here
To help make a difference in this world
There's no hope of change
Without sacrifice

These days unfold into weeks
We must excel ourselves and progress
We are the key to the door
We must progress, never degress
For we are the key

My warmth has gone with the eastern skies
No one to shine their light into these lonely nights
Separated by borders, and they are too high to climb

If we are to find a common ground
Where we can share our thoughts and share our sounds
These walls must be shattered
Torn down to the ground

We can pursue ambitions of the brightest days
Take my hand to bridge this feeling
We can unite a crown worn by all
This world is ours

My warmth has gone with the eastern skies
No one to shine their light into these lonely nights
Separated by borders, and they are too high to climb

As winter strips my shelter, I'm left unearthed to the bitter cold
Take my hands, lead me somewhere I can see the sky
